Overview
Mozok is a local-first iOS app. The core principle of this policy is simple: your health data never leaves your device.Mozok reads from Apple HealthKit to generate cognitive readiness predictions, and those predictions are computed and displayed entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to Mozok's servers.
Information We Collect
On the app
Mozok requests read-only access to the following Apple HealthKit data types:
- Sleep analysis
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Resting heart rate
- Respiratory rate
- Step count
- Mindfulness minutes
- Workout data
Mozok never writes to HealthKit and never transmits HealthKit data off your device.
Crash diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics): If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics. This report contains your device model, iOS version, and the crash stack trace. It does not contain any health data.
Product analytics (Mixpanel):Mozok tracks anonymized usage events — screen views, button taps, feature usage, and onboarding completion — to understand how the app is used and where to improve it. No raw health values are sent. Analytics events may include derived metadata such as your chronotype label (e.g., “morning type”) or aggregate session counts, never the underlying measurements.
On the website
This website is hosted on Vercel. Standard web server access logs are collected automatically and include IP address, browser type, page visited, and timestamp. These logs are retained for approximately 90 days and are not linked to any in-app data.
How We Use Information
Information collected through analytics and crash reporting is used solely to:
- Improve app stability and fix crashes
- Understand which features are useful and which are confusing
- Respond to support requests
Your data is never used for advertising. It is never sold. It is never exported to marketing platforms or advertising networks.
Apple HealthKit Data
HealthKit data accessed by Mozok is used solely to generate cognitive readiness predictions that are displayed to you within the app. This data is not shared with any third party. It is not used for advertising, marketing, or data mining of any kind.
Mozok's use of HealthKit data complies with Apple's guidelines, including Section 5.1.2 of the App Store Review Guidelines, which prohibits using HealthKit data for advertising purposes.
Third-Party Services
Mozok uses the following third-party services. None of them receive your health data.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Receives crash reports containing device and OS information only. No health data. Privacy policy
- Mixpanel: Receives anonymized product analytics events. No raw health values. Privacy policy
- Apple in-app purchases: Subscriptions and payments are managed entirely by Apple. Mozok does not collect or store payment information.
Data Retention
- HealthKit data: Never retained by Mozok. It is read on-device and never stored outside of your device.
- Analytics data:Retained per Mixpanel's default policy (approximately 12 months).
- Crash reports:Retained per Firebase Crashlytics' default policy (approximately 90 days).
- Website logs: Approximately 90 days.
Your Rights
You can revoke Mozok's access to HealthKit data at any time by going to iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Mozok and toggling off any categories.

Children's Privacy
Mozok is not intended for users under the age of 13. This aligns with Apple's HealthKit terms of service, which prohibit HealthKit access for apps used by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For significant changes, we will note the update in the app's release notes so existing users are informed.
